Official Project Launch at NyamagabeDistrict

A project launch ceremony was take place in the main city of Nyamagabe District.(GASAKA Sector).

1.   Participants

a.   The participants in the event were 75 persons.

  1. Expert (1), Social affairs Vice Mayors of Nyamagabe District, 1person from Police at District level, JADF (2 persons), Youth officer (1 person),women council representative (1 person),4persons from COPORWA Head Office(COPORWA legal representative, COPORWA Executive Director, Director of Administration and Finance and Accountant in charge of project implementation)
  • 7 Executive Secretaries of Sectors and 14 Executive secretaries of cells of project area.
  1. 1 journalist, 40 Persons from potters communities/Historically Marginalized People and 2 Field officers.

2.    Organizing Institution.

Community of Potters of Rwanda (COPORWA) NGO organized the Event.

Area of intervention:

This project will be implemented in Kibumbwe, Mushubi, Kaduha, Kibilizi, Gasaka, Kamegeri and Mbazi Sectors of Nyamagabe District

  • Outcome of the project.

Outcome1: Potters Community mobilization against gender-based violence has increased.

Outcome2: GBV victims have improved access to a safe and supportive environment.

Outcome3: Community opinion leaders and local authorities are more accountable and engage other stakeholders to adopt positive community behavior change.

  • Key project stakeholders.

Women and Girls focused civil society organizations, children’s forums and grassroot networks, parliamentarians, National Commission for Children, Rwanda Governance Board, MINECOFIN, MINIJUST, NGOs working in Gender promotion and GBV prevention, Ministry of Education, MIGEPROF, MINALOC, National commission for Human Right, NYAMAGABE District.
